FNAF, or Five Nights at Freddy’s, is a media franchise created by Scott Cawthon. It began with the first game released in 2014, and since then, it has been followed by eight more games.
But not only is Five Nights at Freddy’s a game franchise, but numerous books have been released. The good news for diehard fans is that they’re not directly related to the games but are a part of their own separate narratives.
How Many FNAF Books Are There?
You can expect there to be roughly 25 Five Nights at Freddy’s Books to have been published by 2023.
Officially, there are three Five Nights at Freddy’s novels. A twelve-book collection of anthologies then followed these in the form of the Fazbear Frights collection.
Each of these books contains three short stories and a series of eleven inter-connected epilogues. Tales from the Pizzaplex follows the Fazbear Frights series, with four books expected to have been published by the end of 2022.
However, the complete collection will contain seven books. The non-fiction book, The Freddy Files, also discusses the games and books in more detail.
Five Nights At Freddy’s Trilogy
The Five Nights at Freddy’s trilogy is the first selection of books from Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley. The trilogy is set in a different continuity from the games, so you don’t need to have any prior knowledge to enjoy these novels.
All three of these novels have also been adapted into graphic novels.
The Silver Eyes
As the first Five Nights at Freddy’s novel, The Silver Eyes, is about a group of friends who revisit Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza a decade after a series of murders occurred there. While there, Charlotte and her friends need to find a way to escape the four murderous animatronic mascots.
The Twisted Ones
The Twisted Ones is a direct sequel to The Silver Eyes. Following the events of The Silver Eyes, Charlie tries to move on. However, bodies are discovered by her new school, and she soon finds herself being targeted by the same monsters she thought she had escaped.
The Fourth Closet
In the finale of the trilogy, the reader follows John as he tries to understand what happened to Charlie in The Twisted Ones.
Haunted by what happened to her, he and his old friends team up to find out what happened to the missing children. However, they’ll soon find that they’ll understand what happened to Charlie and the legacy of her father’s creations.
Fazbear Frights
Fazbear Frights is an anthology series with books written by Scott Cawthon and a selection of other authors. There are eleven books in the series and adapted into graphic novels as of 2021.
All of these stories are interconnected, with each book leading to an epilogue known as the Stitchwraith Stingers investigation.

Rick Riordan may be most famous for creating the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series that follows the titular demigod on numerous quests, but many don’t realize that he’s also authored a number of other series. And get this… a lot of them take place in the same universe as his original releases! The name […]
In 1997, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone first came to print. No one could have anticipated just how popular the series would become, least of all its author J.K. Rowling, who was turned away by a staggering twelve publishers on her journey to authordom. As the world fell in love with its enchanting characters […]
